It is the only Staufen imperial palace in the Czech Republic. However, due to war in the 18th century, only a fragment remains of the palace and the Romanesque fortress of Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, including the mighty defensive Black Tower and a unique Romanesque-Gothic chapel.<\/p>\n<p>The underground casemates, with an exhibition on Cheb stove-making, are also open to visitors, as are tombstones from the original Slavic burial
