We can thank the Dukes of Tuscany for the château’s current appearance, as they rebuilt and extensively remodelled it during the 19th and 20th centuries.
It consists of a complex of several buildings: the Šlik Château, the Lauenburg Château, the Princes’ Palace and the summer palace. To the southwest stretches a beautiful park with the White Gate, once one of the most renowned in the country. There are countless exhibitions to explore, including the Ostrov Porcelain exhibition, the Château Complex Through the Ages, Hidden Secrets of the Château, and the Šlik Family and Coin Minting.
