Reopened only in 2014, Libá Castle is located in the Cheb District, just a stone’s throw from the German border.
Originally a Gothic-Renaissance castle residence of the Lords of Liebstein, it was rebuilt in the 18th century into a comfortable Baroque château. However, it fell into disrepair for most of the 20th century, and reconstruction did not begin until the 1990s. The exhibition *The Passage of Time*, mapping the castle’s past, present and future, will introduce you to its eventful history. Visitors can also climb the circular tower.
