The internationally acclaimed Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has upheld a tradition of more than seventy years, offering the chance each year to meet a host of the most talented artists and stars of world cinema. Throughout the year, the region also welcomes gifted jazz musicians, singers and classical music performers from around the world, who regularly bring it to life with a vibrant artistic atmosphere. Concerts by the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra and the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, among the oldest in Europe, are especially popular.
Other popular events include the Wallenstein Celebrations in Cheb, Jazzfest and the Folklore Festival in Karlovy Vary, the Ota Hofman Children’s Film Festival in Ostrov, the international fireworks competition in Sokolov, the Chopin Festival in Mariánské Lázně, the Film Festival and many others.
