The Karlovy Vary Region is world-famous for its spa culture and natural healing waters. Its character is also shaped by lush nature, wild mountains and mysterious mine adits concealing the ancient geological wealth of our planet. Put on your hiking boots and set out on an adventure that will take you to mountain peaks, quiet forest corners and relaxation areas by woodland lakes or babbling streams. Simply reach the first signpost at the foot of the Ore Mountains, and a whole range of possibilities will unfold before you. The emerald jewel in the crown of the Czech lands, known as Slavkov Forest, lies just a little further on.

The romantic and mysterious Ore Mountains offer many natural treasures. Would you like to conquer the mighty peaks of Klínovec and Plešivec? Are you drawn to flowering meadows in the shadow of the hills, wooden boardwalks crossing the Boží Dar Peat Bogs with protected species of plants and animals, or the Jelení vrch and Přebuz nature parks? The choice is yours. In the untouched nature of the Ore Mountains, you can truly relax in the fresh air. Set out with your children to amazing places where you will not meet another soul for miles around.

In the triangle between the best-known spa towns of western Bohemia lies the Slavkov Forest Protected Landscape Area, a mountainous island of greenery and tranquillity. This area of extensive forests, peat bogs, wetlands and historic landmarks is best known for its large number of mineral springs. Slavkov Forest offers many natural attractions. On your wanderings, you may discover the unique Kladská Peat Bogs National Nature Reserve. From May onwards, you can admire the blooming Globe-flower Meadow and, nearby, the Three Crosses close to Mariánské Lázně. On the way from Karlovy Vary to Loket, you will come across the Svatoš Rocks rising above the Ohře River, resembling a wedding procession.
