While walking through the spa zone of Karlovy Vary, take just a few steps from the Hot Spring and you will find yourself at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, a majestic Baroque building designed by the renowned architect Karel Ignác Dientzenhofer.
If you visit during a service, the church interior will also be open to you, with its valuable altarpiece, Baroque sculptures and other decoration. The highlight is the underground crypt with an ossuary, the Holy Sepulchre altar made of Hot Spring stone and pea stone, biblical scenes of the Garden of Gethsemane and Calvary, and other points of interest.
