The unique triangular early Baroque pilgrimage Church of the Holy Trinity was built between 1698 and 1712 according to a design by the prominent Italian architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi.
The architect symbolically expressed the Holy Trinity through the principle of an equilateral triangle, which forms the basis of the ground plan for both the cemetery and the church itself. After the cemetery was abolished in 1946, the church was no longer maintained and gradually fell into disrepair. A complete reconstruction took place in 2004–2005.
