There are only two places in the Czech Republic where you can find relics of the late Pope John Paul II. The Church of St Michael in Ostrov is one of them.

This 13th-century building, an exemplary example of Saxon-type sacred architecture, is located near the Sacred Precinct and the château park. Its interior contains, among other things, valuable preserved Renaissance tombstones, the most precious of which is the Šlik epitaph from 1521. The remaining church furnishings date mainly from the 18th century.
