The legend-shrouded Sacred Precinct monastery complex lies on the edge of the historic zone of Ostrov and is the oldest early Baroque central-plan building in Bohemia.

It offers several ecclesiastical monuments to explore, the most valuable of which is the octagonal Chapel of St Anne, serving as a mausoleum for the Dukes of Saxe-Lauenburg and the Margraves of Baden. The monastery Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary hosts exhibitions and cultural events. You will also find a unique exhibition of ecclesiastical art from the western Ore Mountains. End your visit with a walk in the adjacent château park, once nicknamed the Eighth Wonder of the World.
