The municipal slaughterhouse in Kraslice was built in 1904.

The architecturally exceptional former municipal slaughterhouse building on the southern edge of the town was constructed in 1903–1904 according to a design by Anton Möller, the town architect of Varnsdorf. The dominant feature of the complex is the old evaporator tower, housing restored ice-production equipment. The ingenious cooling system was powered by a large steam engine and later by an electric motor, which can be seen in the engine room. From there, visitors can climb to the upper floors of the former ice works, with its enormous ice-making evaporator. The facility was used for its original purpose until 1990.

By 2002, when the slaughterhouse was acquired by a new private owner, the building had fallen into considerable disrepair. Extensive reconstruction has been under way ever since. Most recently, an exhibition of historic agricultural exhibits and a section dedicated to musical instrument production were opened here. Visitors can come for a tour practically at any time, paying only a symbolic or voluntary admission fee. Refreshments are available in a small restaurant with a terrace.
