The ecclesiastical pride of the town can be found on Franciscan Square.

The original Minorite monastery was founded around the middle of the 13th century and rebuilt several times; its current appearance dates from the 18th century. Within the complex, you can visit some of the buildings, the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, the garden and a unique Gothic cloister, where remnants of 15th-century wall paintings have been preserved. The Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Cheb is one of the oldest hall churches in the Czech Republic. In 1285, the wedding of Czech King Wenceslas II and Guta, daughter of Rudolf of Habsburg, took place here. A few years later, the church acquired its Gothic form, which, apart from several small additions, has been preserved to this day. It was damaged from the 1970s onwards, but following reconstruction, it is once again open to visitors.
